Daily Life Activity Retreats

Outside of formal retreat times, you can book to come and practice with us. The minimum stay is one week, or you can stay longer. The week-long programme includes 3 ½ full days for contemplative practice and 3 ½ days of active practice.
Always book in advance.
Active time
Morning & evening meditation
Shared daily chores (cleaning, cooking, washing-up)
Participation in ecological building or gardening
Contemplative time
Formal Meditation on your own, with instruction available
Open time for your practice
We provide both practical and spiritual guidance during your stay as needed.
Activity time: Noon is available to help people learn new skills such as light carpentry, building, gardening, landscaping etc & whatever is needed for the project we are on at the time.
We often are experimenting ourselves, so invite people to come with an open mind. There is plenty of scope for letting go of ideas about ourselves and retreats. We invite you to come and see and experience a whole-hearted letting go into the moment.
We like to emphasize the difference between woofing and participating in an eco project such as this, where we are all offering service and cultivating generosity by improving and maintaining this retreat place for you, us & future retreatants … for the benefit of all.
Contemplative Practice time
A time to practice more formally, (sitting practice) or, resting, walking in the hills, reading, drawing etc. We offer support/dialogue for your spiritual practice. Noon can offer sessions in Focussing and other meditation techniques.
Cost
20€ a day plus a one-time payment of 10€ to be a member of Ekuthuleni association.

This payment covers food, water, insurance, office costs, gas for cooking but not any of our other costs or the living costs of the resident teacher.
Dana: We are not funded by any institutions or governent bodies. Ekuthuleni relies on people's generosity to remain open.
