Winter 2024 News
Dear Friends of Ekuthuleni,
Wishing you a Fresh New Year!
Wishing for you all,
far & near the blessings of:
Letting sit that which still needs to digest,
stay warm in the ground ,
nourishing itself from deeper sources.
The blessings of:
allowing to relinquish the old & stale,
the outdated smelly old habits & hats,
that are ready to slide off you....
To be gentle with that
which is still murky, unclear ............
& delight in the dawning of slow growings
or the joys of lightning flashs of untanglings
The blessings of knowing where you're at
& being at peace with this place.
Smells of Good food
Truth never frightens
I remember walking out once in the winter
To greet my father as he returned from work.
He was a little late that night
And I waited by a street corner near our house.
The cold can enliven thanks, my wool coat
Became a sacred robe, how happy I felt to be alive.
I waited in a world of magic,
Smells of good food,
The street lamps, the smoke coming from the chimneys,
The candles burning in the windows,
The snow.
Angels feasted, as I did, on existence and God kept saying,
“Have more of what I made”
I saw him coming. We ran into each other’s arms
And he lifted me as he so often had –
Twirled me through the air,
His hands beneath my arms.
That is what the truth does:
Lifts and lets us fly.

What's fresh here:
Our new website is ready! Thanks to our digital bodhisattva Yoda aka Miriam. It should be way more easy to navigate, slimmed down, but retains the warmth & friendliness in keeping with Ekuthuleni's aspiration to offer a place of connection & grounded awareness practice in a world of ever increasing isolated-ness. Let us know what you think!
The new orchard will be planted soon. The fence going to the edge of the field is complete ... at last : this extra space will give a deeper breath of spaciousness to being here... & some fruit & berries eventually.

Looking forward to meditating with you all, with love Noon & Wimmima
